She is moving to Manhattan to enjoy the New York City life. To help us say goodbye... we're going to be offering up some of the oldies but goodies this week.
First, we want to look back at some Bridget's reporting days. One of the first big stories Bridget covered was the controversy surrounding the election of Mike Huckabee as one of the few republican Lieutenant Governors in Arkansas ... and his subsequent rise to Governor when Jim Guy Tucker was forced out of office. "The office was nailed shut for my first 59 days in office", Huckabee said then. " We didn't have an office." Bridget even got in on the aftermath of some major flooding in Fort Smith. This time last week in this neighborhood the only form of transportation was a boat this week while it looks quite and content, folks are still cleaning up. But by far her biggest story was the tornado of 1996 in downtown Fort Smith. Bridget spent several newscasts broadcasting live from Garrison Avenue. Just a few days after the tornado hit ...Bridget was the first reporter to be live from a huge explosion at the Eads Brothers building in downtown Fort Smith. But aside from all the major breaking news .. Bridget was and still is best known for her work with the Muscular Dystrophy Association attending summer camp each year.
