The excitement had been building all over the state for the Razorbacks first game of the season.

But imagine the fans disappointment when those who paid to see the game on Pay Per View only saw a black screen.

The outage lasted all the way through the first quarter.

And fans who gathered at Pizza Warehouse erupted in cheers when the Razorbacks finally showed up on screen.

5 News spoke with Cox Communications who said the issue was not with them, but with who was providing the game signal to them and other cable providers.

Still, that didn't stop the fans who gathered at Pizza Warehouse from serious disappointment.

"Most people get upset because everyone expected it to come on sooner or later. Unfortunately, it was a little later than expected. There are a couple that probably won't be back though," said owner Josh Balmer.

One group gathered at Pizza Warehouse to celebrate a birthday and cheer on the Hogs. "We're big hog fans so we thought it would be a good chance to have a birthday party," said Leslie Myers.

But things didn't quite go as planned. "Oooh we were getting pretty worried. It almost ruined the birthday party," said fan Dennis Hagler.

And while Balmer said some customers gave up the wait and left, some stuck it out.

"It was a little disappointing but we hung it out and made it through," said fan Terry Smither.

But of course, a big Razorback win helped ease the disappointment of missing the first half.
