Arkansas gas prices continue to rise, still second-lowest in U.S.

Missouri is currently the least expensive state for gas, while Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Kansas all round out the top five.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas gas prices have jumped on average five cents over the last week, according to a report from AAA. As the price at the pump continues to rise, Arkansas drivers are still experiencing the second-lowest gas prices in the United States. 

On average, drivers in Arkansas are paying $3.20 for a gallon of regular unleaded fuel - the national average is currently $3.52. Drivers in Texarkana are spending the most on average at $3.33, while drivers in Northwest Arkansas (Fayetteville-Springdale-Rogers) pay $3.21. In Little Rock-North Little Rock, the average price is $3.16. Gas prices in Arkansas are currently the lowest in Fort Smith, with drivers paying $3.15 on average.

Gas prices are up 93 cents in Arkansas compared to this time last year. Rising tensions overseas and the high cost of crude oil are both factors impacting gas prices in Arkansas. 

Missouri is currently the least expensive state for gas, while Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Kansas all round out the top five.
