Jared Broyles
Jared Broyles grew up in Panola, one of those tiny Oklahoma towns with a church, a school, and a post office. His high school graduating class was the largest in the school's history with just 38 students!

Jared attended college at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Broadcasting, with an emphasis in television news. As a student, Jared earned several awards honoring for his journalistic skills, including two first place awards for reporting from the Oklahoma Broadcast Education Association in 2000 and 2001, as well as the 2002 Outstanding Broadcast News Student Award from UCO.

Jared honed his professional skills while at UCO, working for two years as anchor, reporter and producer at KCSU-TV's The Edmond Report, the only "Live at 5" newscast broadcast daily on a college television station. He also interned in 2002 at KTUL-TV Channel 8 in Tulsa.

After graduating, Jared joined KFSM-TV as a general assignment reporter and producer. In the beginning, Jared was assigned mostly to producing, but has worked his way up to reporting Monday through Friday.

Jared's parents paid for years of piano lessons, and while he's no Bach or Mozart, he does enjoy banging around on the old 88 in his free time. When he wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of Fort Smith, he like to drive down to his grandparent's cabin in the hills of eastern Oklahoma where he hits the trails on his 4-wheeler. Family is very important to Jared, so he likes to make the short drive home as often as he can.

People often ask Jared when he knew he wanted to become a reporter and his reply is always that he never knew! Reporting was something he fell in love with when he finally settled on a college major. Jared finds it exciting to be able to bring viewers the news they're hearing for the first time each day.
